Starting to think that I've been here before...

I hope you all had a great weekend! I certainly did! Every year my church does a women's retreat. And while this doesn't always seem appealing to me.. this year I thought why not... my mom wanted to go as well so we decided to go and have a mother daughter weekend. Since we went up north (so beautiful) I was in a very comfy mood when packing. I was lucky enough to get some photos of my outfit before we left. I love layering! I love the way that it looks and that it keeps me warm.. I have a major problem in the fall and winter, I get so cold so easily and it's really hard for me to get warmed back up again. So layering is my best friend come this time of year.

Here are a couple of other outfits that I've worn (and took pictures of in the last couple of weeks)... get ready to see a lot of me in the next few weeks. I will be participating in Kendi's (of Kendi Everyday ) 30 for 30.... wish me luck... I've started to sort through my closet in the last two days... I have to do the final edit tomorrow. I am pretty excited.

Just the right amount

Here's another piece that I will be transtioning from summer to fall. Who says that Linen is just a spring/summer fabric? And aren't rules made to be broken?? (Well, fashion ones anyway)
(Cardi: Old Navy, Cami: Eddie Bauer, Skirt: thirfted, Shoes: Steve Madden)

This skirt is such a great colour... it's rare to find a true red. I picked this up for $10 at a local thrift store, and have loved wearing it this summer... and will contiune to wear it through the fall... and maybe into the winter....

And like I said in my last post anything summer can be made fall with some tights (and a cardi of course).

Hope that your all having a stellar day!!

Transitions...

In case you hadn't heard .... I love fall! The colours, the need for a bit of layering but not to much... the smell of the crisp air... just fall in general.

(Dress:Gap, Belt:American Eagle, Shoes:Steve Madden)

There is one item of clothing that makes all transtions so very easy (and cute to boot)!! Tights, I love these things. I mainly stick to brown and black, as colourful tights still scare me a bit (not sure how to make them work for the office)... I think I'll make it there one day... but right now I am happy with my boring palette of tight colours. I bought this dress in the middle of the summer thinking that it'd be a great transition piece as well... actually I think it will work well for all the seasons. Yay, for mulity season clothing!

What will you be bringing with you into fall that you wore this summer??

Hi my name is...

So if you knew me in real life you'd know that I am a shopaholic... that's right... I get my highs from buying stuff. Not just any stuff though, makeup and clothing are what seem to be my fixes.

So for the next few months though I am going to give my self a challenge ..... wait for it......... wait for it.....

(shirt:Old Navy, Jeans: BDG, Belt: American Eagle)

I am giving myself an allowance!! That's right, $40 a month to be exact. I know, I know you were expecting it to be ground breaking right? Well I guess this just proves that the tried and true ways of cutting debt and saving are here to stay.

To me at this moment $40 a month doesn't seem like a whole lot... but then I think about the people in this world that don't even see $40 in a month. ( yeah I definitely went there.... sorry for the cheese, would you like some gravy and fries with that..lol)

But all kidding aside, it's true living in Canada I am super privileged... yes I am definitely not in the upper percentage of income, but I am certainly making a lot more than the majority of people in this world... and for that I am so grateful. But it's dawned on me that by spending my money the way that I do, I am not showing how grateful I actually am.

The point that I am trying to make to myself is that 1. I need to save money 2. I need to pay off the debt that I have accumulated and finally 3. That I don't need to buy stuff just to make me feel important or however it makes me feel at that moment.

I want to become wise about how and when I spend my money I want to think about my purchases and to end my tendency of living beyond my means.

Do you remember when you were little and you got a weekly allowance? That money that I was given was precious... it took me forever to decide what I wanted (if I even wanted to spend it at all). I want to get back to that. You know that feeling of "it really has to be worth it for me to want to spend my hard earned money on it".

So dear readers... what does this mean for my blog... well it means more posts. I am hoping to show you what what I will discover while shopping my closet. And learning to love the items of clothing that I already own! So that means more outfit posts...YAY! Please give me some grace as I figure that all out. And as always I would love to hear from you! I mean you are after all the ones ultimately reading this so I want you to let me know what it is that you want to see.

whew... if you've made it this far... you deserve a hug!! Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read my humble blog... I really do appreciate it :)

So let the count down to Christmas begin!!
